I'm starting to think maybe many of them rely on a steady stream of work to keep it all going and aren't really saving or planning that much for the future.

We’re regular but successful people though not nearly as successful or connected as Dane or VanDerBeek but we are insured to the tune of 6 million. It’s not hard to do.

I think it's ridiculous that you can list the starter of the campaign as basically anonymous - "friends of Eric Dane." Their names should be attached to this too.

It wouldn't surprise me if this gets walked back or they just donate the money to ALS research. If they really need $250,000 for immediate needs (school tuition, mortgage), certainly their friends could spot them.

The Go Fund Me is ridiculous. It’s in very poor taste.

I wonder how they arrived at the $250,000 goal for Erik Dane's GFM. It says the money is for school and housing. Is it possible he was paying for most of the stuff for the kids and this is to get his kids through the time that his will is in probate? I don't know that I would have done it this way, and who knows whether Eric or Rebecca were even involved in setting this up.

They would have proceeded with the divorce except he got sick. That's when she withdrew her divorce filings. I don't think any of them wanted to use the time left going through a divorce. I'm sure there were financial reasons too, given his life-limiting illness.
