I don't think it's a great love story. More like a reality show: A marriage that probably would have been short-lived between two people who weren't that bright and liked to make reckless decisions.

Yeah, I don't get where the "he was so entranced" and "she was so strong and self-confident" narrative came from. He was sleeping with her, and others, for a few years. Yet she hung in there. Even worse than Waity Katie.



I try to keep an open mind about her, but could never get past that awful fight in the park. She was like an alleycat, scary. And it does seem she cheated on him. He may have cheated in the last week of his life, but I don't think there was any suggestion of cheating before then.

I don't think that's what happened. JFK Jr adopted a shepherd, but he was aggressive and had to be put to sleep after a few biting incidents. The replacement dog was the rare dog from a breeder. I can understand why they wouldn't want to chance adoption again after a bad experience, especially when you live in the city and the dog encounters lots of people and other dogs.

I read that the one GF the family really liked was Christina Haag. Jackie was fond of her, found her to be genuine and liked that she was Brown- and Julliard-educated. But as reported by his friend Billy Noonan, John was cheating on her with multiple women, including Daryl H, and they finally broke up. I agree with PP that no one should make these people into angels. Lots of fighting and cheating. Jackie might have liked Carolyn more than Daryl, but probably wouldn't have been keen on her lack of refinement and academic pedigree.

He refused to introduce her to his mother (so disrespectful), and only broke up with Daryl because he accidentally killed her dog and she made him attend the dog's funeral in LA while Jackie was dying. He seemed to marry her more because "his taxi light was on" rather than because he was madly in love. They were both selfish and volatile, and they both cheated. Making them into some great love story is absurd. Highly unlikely they'd have stayed married.



He couldn't introduce Carolyn to Jackie while he was still dating Daryl; she did not approve of womanizing (obviously a sensitive issue). Also Jackie probably would not have liked her either, too down to earth and not sufficiently patrician.
