I’m about to be 56 and I’m going to buy a Porsche 911 for MYSELF and I really don’t care what people think where they see my old ass crawling out of it. I’ve finally got the money and the kids are gone so I’m going to enjoy my life. Life is short and don’t make decisions based on what others think! 95% of the time they are too worried about what people are thinking about them anyway.

They are bought by people who 1) can afford them, 2) like their appearance, and 3) like their performance. Also, sometimes people buy them to gain entry to owner's clubs, for social reasons.
Those who criticize choices of this type made by others are not people whose opinions should matter to anyone.

BUT make sure that he does not hype it up with all the high powered engine and race car like options - they cost a ton extra and detract from this car's everyday comfort driving.

And double the cost.
A base spec new Corvette is $70,000 and they go up to $250,000 with the new hyper-car Corvette ZR1x spec.
A nice retro Bronco costs $40,000 to $100,000. See the auctions for yourself:

This for $56,000 >>>>>> new Corvette for $70,000+
