Subject: Two-hour delay for Wednesday 2/4
I assigned work last week but I'm probably not going to grade any of it. It will all be "enrichment" work. Not going to penalize the students who didn't do it and not going to waste time waiting for them to catch up.

If it's your position that AP kids should be fully capable of teaching with Khan Academy and College Board material themselves, then why do we have the AP classes at all? What is the point of having teachers or sending them to school if you believe the kids should teach themselves?
What a stupid comment. Kids are not supposed to be teaching themselves their coursework. That’s why we have schools.
You may want to hold MCPS to a low standard, but many others disagree. If you want to close schools every time there is ice on the ground, McPS should open two weeks earlier in August. McPS can build in 8 snow days into its calendar instead of the single snow day it has now
God, your kid must really be stupid for you to be this persistent. ALL GOOD AP students supplement on their own, in every city, district, etc. all over the country. They are students who study without being told by a teacher via emails during snowstorms.
Not only is my kid smarter than you, my pet gerbil is smarter than you. Requiring kids to teach themselves is not "supplementing." Students, AP or otherwise, should not be told to "google a curriculum and teach themselves" because MCPS can't figure out how open schools the way its neighboring districts can.

People have noticed your constant and consistent hysterics about AP classes as if the world has ended because your kid missed a few days of instruction. The world will continue to revolve and most kids will pass the AP exams just fine. Not sure about your kid, but good luck.
Its not a few days, its a week and there was no reason to go without academics. Thank goodness we had teachers assign work.

Yes, there is as its frozen over at that hour and hasn't warmed up. We still have a lot of black ice in our neighborhood and its still bad and slippery. Kids walk in the street.
I just tried to shovel more. Its still hard and frozen.

It was above freezing at 6 am
Its still cold at 6 AM. What time do your kids get up and at school? Its also very difficult in some neighborhoods.
