Tomorrow Wednesday? Unlikely especially due to the scheduled early release. FCPS has a pretty consistent approach of always ending a multi-day string of snow days with a 2-hour delay. I’m not sure why posters think they would do a 2 hour delay combined with an early release. If they decide on a 2 hour delay the end of the school day would switch to the regular dismissal time.

I'm asking the question because FCPS is the one who didn't already decide to close tomorrow. I don't understand that, but I've predicted what they'd do wrong before.

They aren't getting rid of the early release.

If they had a 2 hour delay they would.

That’s what they used to do with early dismissal Mondays. A delay would push the release time to the later bell.

They won't do it because it's a before a 4-day weekend and many families are headed out of town tomorrow afternoon. I know that a substantial group in our school is going skiing. There wouldn't be anyone there for the last 2 hours of the day.

But this discussion is also academic because school will be closed tomorrow.

I liked how PG County did it - they said they are closed through Thurs. Friday is TBD. That way families can plan accordingly, no guessing or waiting around for an official announcement, and the reality is the neighborhood streets and school parking lots can't sufficiently be cleared until then.

Wish fcps would follow that same type of forward thinking and announcement.

Then we’d have a lot of people complaining that the made the call too early.

A small group will bicker, but a much larger percentage will appreciate the heads-up to officially close through Wed.

Nah, nothing significant has changed since Sunday except the main roads. Neighborhoods remain impassable, turn lanes in major intersections are covered, 200 school lots need clearing, and the 10k kids who are walkers will walk in the street.
