The GFS model, which was predicting less than an inch yesterday is now in agreement with other models that have snow totals at 12+ inches.

Why do people argue about the forecast. Look at your weather app or watch the news. This thread is bonkers. People with nothing better to do than argue. Very strange to have to dig this deep just to look for an argument.

Most publics in Chicago, perhaps. I am certain that the temperatures in Chicago will not impact FCPS operations.

The chicago forecast is below zero but not 40 below.

The GFS model has the storm trending to the south and is predicting an inch. Other models including the European still show a foot of snow here. CWG has been posting raw models not making a forecast.


The GFS is not to be trusted more than 48 hours out. Whatever is posted now for the weekend is crap. Look to the wise Euro.

Euro is USUALLY the best for winter storms and is still showing a decent sized snowstorm for this area, I think around the 10” range. The Euro AI model went crazy though and is showing the 20” which I don’t believe at all.
