fcps is generally a high wealth area with educated parents who prioritize education. i would think more kids in this area fall in the high % than others. but can also vary a lot. i know plenty of kids who are not that high

At some elementary schools, the number of kids in the 99th percentile is astoundingly high. Different test, but it's worth mentioning that there are a few high-performing elementary schools in FCPS where in order to be in-pool (meaning top 10% of the school) for AAP selection on the NGAT as a second grader, you need to be in the 99.5% ile or so. So more than 10% of the class is in the top 1% nationwide.

DS in grade 2 got 259. Not sure what this means. But he improved 9 pt

Have you checked PatentVue documents section? The posted report will have her percentile. The percentile is also visible in the Test History section (usually posted before the actual report in Documents tab).

DD score for MAP is 261 (both Fall and Winter are same ) - 7th grade ,is it in high range ? is there any chart for comparison or to know the range

Mine tested 2 points lower in math MAP in winter. I attribute this to a random correct guess on the final question in the Fall that didn't happen during winter testing. If a child tests super high at some point, you can expect to see a stall or even decline later. Unless it's persisting, you probably don't need to worry just yet.

Even MAP's own system is predicting wacky things in these situations. In reading, my second grader scored 213 in Fall, 230 in winter, and now for spring, his RIT projection is 221. Curious to see what score he'd actually get.

For an AAP kid in 6th, is the percentile based on 6th grade math or 7th grade math?

i believe they are compared with grade peers. not on the actual math they are doing. the test is adaptive. so the more you know the harder it gets
