This is the sane answer!

I can rent a huge hamptons house for $40k a month in summer and split it 5 ways.
Why is that bizarre? We could rent the house for 10k per week in the summer.
The cost of the potential rental is somewhat irrelevant since we probably won’t rent it. It is more about the relationship of an old friend who I rarely talk to or see.
She likely ghosted and disappeared due to her poverty and feelings about her own poverty
I never considered her being in poverty. She is forever the friend who is supported by her parents but her dad passed away years ago. She has no income and gets money from her mom. Her mom is now old and also no longer in good financial standing.
Something happened to their house. Like a fire but not a fire that made the home not livable. I don’t think they have the cash to pay for repairs so they are displaced.

No you can’t. $40k is a weekly price not monthly

then come back and tell us how bad of a decision it was. Anonymous wrote:Of course. I would always want to help out family of very good friend. I’d hope someone would do the same if the situations were reversed.
