I cannot believe how little the US media is covering this story. What in the world is going on with our media outlets?
Because we don’t care. Iranians are competent enough to handle their own affairs. We do not need to jump in and
”install” a leader
If Khamenei’s regime is overthrown by the people of Iran, it will be a huge disruption in the world order. We don’t get to say we “don’t care” and pretend it’s not happening.

I remain hopeful for the people of Iran but the apathy of so many supposedly freedom loving Americans, particularly left leaning, is jolting.
Wake me when colonial Israel is overthrown.

We have enough going on right here in the USA. Why do we need to worry about protestors in Iran when American protestors are being shot in the face, arrested, tear gassed and more. Deal with what's going on in your own house.

GENEVA – UN human rights experts* today urged Iran to halt the execution of Goli Kouhkan, a 25-year-old undocumented Baluch woman set to be executed this month.
“Kouhkan’s case exemplifies the systemic gender bias faced by women victims of child marriage and domestic violence within Iran’s criminal justice system,” the experts said. “Carrying out the execution would constitute a grave violation of international human rights law.”
Kouhkan was forced into marriage at the age of 12 to her cousin and subjected to years of physical and psychological violence while working as a farm labourer. At 13, she gave birth at home without medical care. When she attempted to escape the abusive marriage, her efforts were unsuccessful due to her undocumented status and societal pressure.
In May 2018, when Kouhkan was 18 years old, her husband beat both her and their five-year-old son. After a relative was called to help, a confrontation ensued which resulted in her husband’s death.

Also, many of us are following this. I don’t have a firm grasp on the cause of their current financial crisis that seems to be driving this. Long lists of human rights abuses are kind of dumb when what people are protesting is the very serious economic crisis.
Their currency lost half of its already not great value just recently. It’s impossible for the people (and merchants) to get/sell/buy basic goods including rice. It’s been getting worse and worse. The people have tried fairly recently to overthrow the mullahs, but it was brutally squashed with thousands of executions and even more disappearances into their notorious prisons. In contrast to Venezuelans who have emigrated en masse to nearby countries and to the U.S. in the millions, the Iranians cannot get out easily. Their passport does not travel well.
(And they need special exit permits, pay exit taxes, and women and children cannot leave at all without men and authorization from the men they are related to. Also, they could easily get arrested or disappear upon trying to board a flight or cross their border.)
Iran is like Israel. The hardliner religious fanatics will never give up power.
Listen you vile antisemite:
Israel is NOTHING like Iran.
I would agree, but only because the repression they engage in is of an entirely different kind.
Precisely, Israel's repression of Palestinians both in Gaza and in the West Bank is infinitely worse than anything Iran has done to its people.
lets talk next week
Iran is currently murdering thousands to suppress the protesters. but dont worry we can rely on Al Jazeera to report.
Come back when Iran has slaughtered hundreds of thousands of people within its borders. Thanks.
What does it matter? Trump and republicans murder US citizens for protesting.
This just happened in Minnesota.
