Grandfather: MIT Grandmother: No college (attended a fancy "finishing school" though)

Mom: Purdue, Aunt: Vassar, Uncle: Mich State

Me: DePaul, brother: Beloit
Aunt's kids: U of Texas, St Mary's
Uncle's kids: both Michigan State

Most of us haven't had kids and only one of us has kids college age -- one is at Case Western Reserve and the other is at Mary Washington.

Hoping for a little anonymity and also think it’s sorta interesting that all 5 of us landed at schools currently ranked the same

Parents - Duke
Kids - Michigan (full tuition scholarship) and Princeton

Note - my parents college dropouts (Illinois State). Just going to college changed my trajectory and that of my kids.

Education is good but need to be a doer no matter where you go.

Me and DH: University of Texas at Austin (yes, we met there and got married right after graduation)
DD: W&M
DS: UVA

Trivia: my dad was military, and if I had gone to college one year later, I would have been eligible for in state in either TX or VA (due to my mom's job). I loved UT, but I would have picked W&M, and really enjoyed living vicariously through DD's time there.

To be clear, when I say "picked" I mean it would have been my preference, not that I'm assuming I would have been admitted.

UT and W&M are very different, and yet I'm confident I would have been happy with both. I believe strongly that people can bloom where they're planted!
