Old school Dem leader like Clinton, Obama, and Sanders used to know and proclaim that illegal immigration is bad for labor, bad for wages, bad for employment, and bad for African Americans. But now every affluent progressive is a full-throated proponent of illegal immigrants getting to come, stay forever, get jobs, and get benefits paid for by taxpayers. This is why voters no longer like affluent progressives. They virtue signal by supporting very destructive, very unpopular policies.
His great skill is getting suckers to believe things like there were invading caravans of people and people eating cats and dogs and illegals voting and getting government benefits. His single skill is identifying marks to take advantage of.
if that was true, would it not be easy for Democrats to duplicate this and do it better?
Trump is an idiot, why cant Democrats do better?
and the answer is because Democrats would rather treat voters with contempt than win elections. There can be no other conclusion.

They accuse Trump of lying about the border and about Dem support for men in girls’ locker rooms, while simultaneously refusing to abandon their unpopular open border or trans sports policies. If these things weren’t really happening, then Dems shouldn’t have minded stopping them. Instead it’s just ridiculous gaslighting.

But a New York Times examination of Mr. Biden’s record found that he and his closest advisers repeatedly rebuffed recommendations that could have addressed the border crisis faster, and eased what became a potent issue for Mr. Trump as he sought to return to the White House and justify the aggressive tactics roiling American cities today.
Former Biden administration officials told The Times that Mr. Biden and his circle of close confidants — including Ron Klain, who was chief of staff during the president’s first two years, Mike Donilon, Jennifer O’Malley Dillon and Anita Dunn — made two crucial errors.
First, they underestimated the scale of migration that was coming. Second, they failed to appreciate the political reaction to that migration — believing that stronger enforcement would alienate Latino and progressive voters, and also that a border surge would not be an important issue to most voters. Those calculations would later prove to be mistaken, with many voters, including Latinos, citing immigration as a reason for supporting Mr. Trump in 2024.
This is the crux of the issue. They cared more about re-election, party power, than what is right by the American people.
Two wrongs still don't make a right. All of the political momentum Biden gifted the GOP has quickly been pissed away by Trump's careless immigration crackdown.
disagree
many many swing voters are happy with the immigration crackdown.
mayorkas and Biden screwed the US voters. now we have Trump and his chaos.
False. We have Trump because too many fvking idiots thought that Trump would lower the price on eggs.
DP. I don’t think about immigration at all. It has no effect on my vote.
I voted for Trump because of the border crisis. Polls show that it was the second most important issue, after the economy, for Trump voters.
I disagree that immigration doesn’t affect our lives. It affects everything - from housing costs, auto insurance costs, health care cost, traffic congestion, issues with ESL at schools, etc. I am one of the millions of Americans who is upset with the out of control immigration a thinks it is having a very negative effect on our country.
Thanks for your refreshing honesty--assuming you're for real. I would love to know, if I may ask: besides how Trump has addressed your concern about immigration, how do you feel about everything else he has said and done? And, do you feel that, in the end, it's all justified as long as he continues his campaign to rid the country of all migrants who are not here legally?
most of what Trump has done is awful. He is awful.
but he stopped DEI and he fixed the border.
why cant Democrats focus on helping US citizens?
