I really wish that the Notre Dame football team, players, coaches, and staff had the courage and class to face a daunting BYU team in a post season bowl game. But, when the going gets tough, Notre Dame's football team and it's athletic director show us what they're made of (i.e. childish cowardice).
Maybe Notre Dame will show some class and decency and drop its football program for producing such a cowardly, entitled ethos.
Ah, ok, now I get it. You're just a troll. You're not here for a serious discussion.
Wrong again. Unless you call you're constant name-calling and belittling of others' posts "serious discussion."
I am a long time fan of Notre Dame football, but despise childish behavior and cowardice.
Yes, ND would probably lose to BYU in a bowl game this year based on ND football's reaction to failing to make the 12 team cut for the CFP. Seems like ND football has grossly overestimated its value to the current college football environment. ND football is becoming irrelevant--even justifiably so based on its reaction to the CFP results. Notre Shame.
No legit ND fan would write this crap.
Well, you're wrong again. I am a Notre Dame football fan, but I also detest childish behavior & cowardice.
You keep bragging about ND football's great class of recruits. Fine,. I agree. But, I wonder why, based on ND football's weak schedule, why ND football needs this caliber of football recruits.
Times have changed regarding college football and change is still occurring. Let Notre Dame football engage in its chest thumping boisterous stance about being independent. Well, maybe Notre Dame football is too good for the SEC, too good for the Big Ten, too good for the ACC, too good for the Big 12, and too good to be evaluated before being offered a CFP slot. If ND football is too handsome for every girl in town, then don't go to the prom (and then cry about it in public).
Notre Shame needs a new athletic director. Get someone with some guts, courage, and integrity.
You have serious issues. You are hovering over this thread waiting to jump in and pounce on every post with the same tired and over the top response. You're clearly not an ND fan. You're clearly not even, well, normal. You're a troll.
Well, I stayed at the Morriss Inn on Notre Dame's campus. And I have watched ND football for many decades. Regardless, Notre Dame football and its AD should be ashamed of their reaction to not making the cut for the CFP. U Miami & U Alabama are legitimate CFP teams, and Notre Dame would have been invited if the CFP had more than 12 teams.
Sorry that I don't meet your standard for being a fan of Notre Dame football, but ND football thinks that it is above the rest of the teams and conferences in the country and cannot understand or deal with, rejection by a playoff system that ND's athletic director helped create. Seems pretty childish to me. Maybe the ND AD can do a better job of rigging the CFP system system so that ND football's macho independence will have some positive meaning beyond greed and an inflated sense of self-importance.

They just signed a consensus top 3 incoming class, their best in a decade or more. They're not going anywhere.
Love them or hate them, they got screwed this year.
Notre Dame football is irrelevant. (Just wait for the decommits.)
Notre Dame football is too good for the Big Ten Conference, too good for the SEC, too good for the ACC, not good enough for the CFP, and too good to lower themselves to play in a non-CFP bowl game this year. And not good enough for the NFL. Tough spot.
Lol they’re the only top school that had zero decommits on early signing day. You really are clueless.
Haters coming out of the woodwork lol. ND living in people's heads rent free...it is so fun to watch. If the were so irrelevant, why is there disscussion all over social media about this? Even on the college forum that hates to discuss football. LOL

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I don’t get it. ND was ranked ahead of Alabama. Alabama lost and suddenly jumped ND and Miami then slides into its slot. Very sleezy moves by the committee considering neither Miami nor ND played this week. ND was slotted in the top ten for 5 weeks. CFP can no longer have any credibility.
Rankings are not standings. This is the weirdness of the CFP. Rankings are only ever a subjective guess on how teams compare based on a variety of factors that never line up perfectly between teams.
The embarrassment for the CFP is that they ever ranked ND of Alabama, a team that had a better or equal record to ND all season while beating tougher teams and playing a much more grueling schedule. It's a reflection of the CFP's fondness for ND's television ratings.

Just because you write your own schedule doesn't mean you can predict the playoffs.
ND should have been in, but they were on the bubble the whole time and it was never guaranteed. You want to keep decision out of the committees hands, you join a conference and win it.
If all you care about is winning the National title, there are plenty of "it doesn't matter" games. The Pop Tart bowl would be one, but Indiana played a game on Saturday that didn't matter one bit as far as the national title goes, and it was thrilling. It's what college sports are all about.
