Ummm - never tried coke. Or marijuana. It's all rather gross imho.
One time of coke can kill you. I saw a 19 yo male with a heart attack from coke. Yes, it's a thing.
How are these kids partying/drinking in HS and then getting into Ivies? Meaning, how do they keep their grades up, sports/ECs if they're drunk so much that they are bored of it by college? And how do they keep up with college classes if they're drugged/high? Serious question.

It's not the coke that kills you - it's the *other stuff*
Actually, yes it's coke that kills you. Google is your friend here.

And the other stuff kills too.

They spent high school getting drunk. They're bored and move on.

Yes. Lots of smoking going on at the Ivy my kid attends. Vaping is really out but cigarettes are very in.
Cigarettes are awesome when you're a student.
-- Ivy grad who hasn't smoked in years but remembers them fondly.
My kid (at an Ivy) texted me during orientation to say "who knew cigarettes were still a thing" She was surprised because kids in HS vaped (a lot) but no one her age really using cigarettes back home. She hasn't mentioned cocaine at all, but I remember it being a rich kid thing when I was in college so I'm sure its still a thing in certain social circles.
