Did you all email your FC letters?
Also is it ok for someone to skip the love letters? How useful are these since they’re signaling in fact school isn’t your first choice due to wording?

Also curious about the other girls schools in UES, specifically spence and chapin. Did anyone receive feedback?

We got feedback from Brearley about 3 weeks ago. There’s another thread where several people mention their feedback from B.

We heard positive feedback from Dalton from PSD. Unconnected preschool.

How did you get the feedback if they're unconnected? We're at a UPK in a DOE school and its a black box.

Sometimes they do call UPK school directors. those calls are positive indicators.

Unfortunately, you can’t get a feedback unless you have a consultant who helped you with the application and the process. We were also from public school. We did not know how much negotiation and game goes on behind the scenes with private preschools and schools. We blissfully did not know when we applied. We got lucky. We are at one of the tts mentioned here. We also know some families from the same grade and other grades who are from public. Some had consultants and some did not. We did not use a consultant. People who used consultants seem to have had feedbacks.

We heard from Spence and Chapin in December before break. Brearley we got feedback right after winter break.

We have weekly conversations with our director, our next is beginning of next week.

I don’t think this is universally true. We got a very nice direct response to our first choice letter (email). This was a few years ago, not this cycle.

Do you send it to the Head of Admissions or to your interviewer?

We had met with the head of admissions during our interview, so we sent it to her. Had we met with someone else, I probably would have sent it to the interviewer, but I am not sure tbh.

It depends on the ongoing school and your preschool. We were told by preschool to write a letter and get it to the ongoing school by the end of the week. We did, there was a phone call to preschool after they received the letter, and that was that. Deal was made.

Our 1st choice letter to a TT school was responded to within 24 hours with a nice note saying they are happy to get our note and that they'll add it to our kid's file and they look forward to staying in touch. It could mean absolutely nothing. It was a nice acknowledgement. Our love letters weren't responded to at all. We'll see!
