Her school has free lunch, if a friend wants a second lunch but doesn’t have the money for the second lunch she will get the meal and give it to them. I do not think any kid should go hungry so I am ok with my tax money going to free lunches

Just like you let daddy state educate them?
It's so foolish to think that lunch is the one think that should be excluded in free schooling.
School is not free.
Exactly. So lunch should be included.

It was literally the same food.
No it wanted. Mushy deli sandwiches made the day earlier, not the same.
Why was it different?
I remember seeing a district newsletter/email post covid (maybe last year or the year before) about kids getting involved in remaking the menus. My kids weren't in school yet during Covid, so it was definitely after that. Is that why the food tastes different now, or were there issues?
Was it really about money as some posters have assumed or were there supply chain or staffing issues related to COVID?

Anonymous wrote:How much money will you saved if Virginia is able to pass free lunches for all kids?
We will mostly have all the votes, and the Governor seems to be on board. Let us know how it will help you?
Anonymous wrote:I think that i don't want to pay to educate the kids of people that think we shouldn't have "free" lunch. Private school for all!
Honestly, it's so ridiculous for people that don't pay for education to fight about paying for lunch.
Anonymous wrote:Imagine how much money we would save if parents taught kids to count and read. Then we could shorten the school year, pay teachers less, save paper, save energy. Free lunches are for losers.

Yep. Also, I don't want to pay for school for anybody making over 75k. They can afford to pay for it.
Problem is people who get paid in cash and don't fully declare it and get free food as low income.
No the problem is people like you who think this.
