That's me. I grew up in Georgetown and attended a local private school. A huge number of my HS friends have ended up back in DC because we are highly educated and in VIP roles mostly.

I'm kinda surprised by the reactions here.

Of all of my exes, I have the strongest nostalgic feelings for my high school sweetheart. I wouldn't have an affair with him because he's married and I don't do that. But I think it's reasonable to feel threatened by that.

Oh, and one of my exes broke up with me and a year later I found out he got back together with his high school girlfriend. We were 32. They are married now. So....

I have a question for OP - if he were single would you be interfered in rekindling the relationship? Maybe the wife gets that vibe and is trying to be safe.

You have no power here. I don’t understand why the guy is hanging out with a mixed-sex crowd without his wife when he has little kids at home anyway. Either way, you need more friends that don’t include these people.
