I’m the PP who posted the 2016 Post article on the first page, and I found it when I was trying to find a different article that I read a while ago that absolutely proved that support for Trump is predicted by the supporter having an authoritarian father. I will try to find that link.

I identified myself as a DP. Why do you think I'm a Republican? My party is pro-choice, pro-vaccine, anti-death penalty, pro-LGBTQ+ and all equal rights. I believe in God and science, as do many. They teach it as metaphysical and spiritual transformation. It is a difference between the "substance" and the "accidents" (theological terms), the metaphysical and the physical. So trying to "disprove it scientifically" is just a gross misunderstanding of the Sacrament. Mocking it, is bigotry.

Similarly, any priest will agree that you cannot scientifically prove when a soul enters the body. Politics aside for a moment, this is why the Catholic theological, moral view is that one must assume it occurs at conception to avoid sin (and acknowledge that people do sin). That is their personal, moral, theological prerogative that does not have to be scientifically proved.

Politically, the unknowable, unprovable aspect of ensoulment is why others, including many Catholics and Catholic politicians, agree that the government should not be involved in what is a personal moral belief and decision, particularly because one must acknowledge that other faiths have very different opinions about when, or even if, a soul enters a body. Americans who believe in freedom of religion and separation of Church and state, including many Catholics and Christians and Christian politicians, understand that those individuals should not be held to the moral standards of another faith system, when the basis of all of them is belief.

If you think we need "belief" in science or we need to "support" science then you do not understand science. We should always question which is the root of all science.
