Her boyfriend is Frederic Arnault so she has the ultimate designer luxe connection. It would be criminal if she wasn’t best dressed.

It looks like she’s wearing cotton candy, and I don’t mean that in a snarky way, but in a “how the heck do you do that!?” way. If you’re going to do something out of the ordinary, this is how you do it.

Agree but I am pretty sure she is a blonde

She's not

DP 1) She is a natural blonde. This is easily googleable. You picked a photo of her when she was acting in Gossip Girl, which required her to be a brunette. 2) This is a yassified pictured of Leighton. It's scary that someone would do that since she's so naturally pretty.

Here are some school pictures of her. She is a natural brunette:

Bringing the receipts! Love it.

With eyes that dark, there is zero chance that she is a natural blonde

+1
And every picture of her with blonde or red hair looks off.

I agree they should let the winners speak longer. But they could keep the same timing and cut all of the fluff. I would much rather give the winners more time and forget the banter between the presenters. It always comes off as scripted and fake (which I'm sure it is).

This looks stupid, and her hair looks awful

Yes, this is atrocious. Everything is so unflattering, weird and overdone. Walton Goggins also looked gross as he stood next to her, with his unbuttoned shirt and chest all oiled up. They seriously clashed with each other.

This was one of the worst looks of the night. Reminded me of something one would order from the Sears catalog in the 70s.

I don’t think he was that bad.

The gag where they were penalizing winner speeches for going over by taking money from the Boys & Girls club backfired really badly, but I don't know how much of that was on Nate. I'm sure the producers wanted to keep the show on time and there might have been pressure from the network, so maybe he was just following orders. It wound up being a massive miscalculation because this wound up being a surprising Emmys in terms of the number of winners who were first time nominees or first time winners, and whose wins felt really special and meaningful (Katherine LaNasa and Jeff Hiller getting recognized after years of being kind of workaday background actors, Noah Wylie getting a much deserved first time win with a really beloved comeback role, Trammell Tillman being the first black man to win in his category, Stephen Graham as another veteran and well-liked actor winning for his role in a really powerful show he also directed and co-produced). Normally the Emmys involve a lot of repeat winners and it's common to aware really established actors who have been celebrated a lot. Like I was surprised Harrison Ford didn't win, that would have been a very classic Emmy's move. Jean Smart was a classic Emmy's win, usually there are a lot like that. But most of the night wasn't like that.

I do feel like the room felt especially cold when the show started, and I think part of that is not Nate's fault at all and a reflection of how this is sort of a nightmare crowd for a comedian -- it's a lot of self-absorbed, self-important people who are skeptical of anyone they haven't heard of (and I guarantee you a lot of them have no idea who he is and no real interest in finding out). They'll laugh reflectively at someone they view as being established and A-list, like Colbert or Steve Martin. But some working comedian who's never headlined a TV show or a movie? They think it's beneath him. Especially since Nate is a clean comic with broad mass market appeal. It's snobbery. They think he's beneath them. I also bet some of them assume he's MAGA because of his accent. A lot of Hollywood people really are that simple.

+1
And not just "Hollywood people"...

She is adorable and that dress is extraordinary. The jewelry is on point too, I love that choker.

DP.I believe that Leighton was blonde as a kid but actually doubt she's currently a "natural" blonde. She been blonde several times since Gossip Girl and it always looks bleached.

She definitely looks better as a brunette and has chosen to wear her hair brunette most of her life since Gossip Girl. Not always this dark brown, but still brunette. The red doesn't work at all.

+100
She may have had lighter, "blonde" hair when she was younger, but many adult brunettes do.

Yes, Nicole Kidman wore a similar dress to the Oscars back in 2007.

I know this is old but proves why designers love to dress her for the red carpet.
