Seems like the GOP would own a shutdown since it controls all the branches of government. Also, the OBBB is starting to be felt throughout the land with rural health services shutting down.

Dems might vote for a clean CR. Will Rs?

I would not rely on anything that the WH or congressional Republicans put out as a desk or plan in the works. House is on recess through Oct. 1. Senate can’t even get the tainted CR to 50 votes. I think it’s safe to assume long shut down. I’m preparing for 1-3 with one of our two household incomes.
DHS and DOD are funded. They don’t care about anything else.
I thought DOD is also operating on a CR - has there been a separate appropriations bill passed for that agency?
That was until the end of the fiscal year — Sept. 30th.
Right, someone up the thread said that DHS and DOD are both funded so the GOP won’t care if the rest of the govt shuts down. I was wondering where they got that info because as far as I know, no federal agency is funded and they will all shut down on 10/1 if nothing happens.
DP. This is also my understanding - but I could be wrong.
Your understanding based on what? No funding bills have been passed. Exempted employees will have to work. The rest will be furloughed.
And isn’t Congress on yet another vacation?
