How is this possible? Everyone learns to drive by pulling into spaces.
My DD just got her license and the instructor did not go over parking by pulling into a spot. He only taught her how to back in or parallel park. His answer was safety.
Don’t get me started on driving classes and instructors. They tried to advocate putting hands at 7 and 4 instead of 10 and 2 along with putting side view mirrors angled towards blind spots and not along car line. 🤦♂️
Oh my goodness. That's just irresponsible stupidity. Aren't there regulations on what they are telling people to do? There are enough bad drivers out there without training new ones.
Well, according to the VA DMV, the proper hand position is 8 and 4. It is no longer 10 and 2 because of the airbags. If the airbags deploy, your hands are more likely to hit you in the face in an accident.

As for the mirrors, this is what they say: Blind spots are danger areas where vehicles around you cannotbe easily seen. Before driving, adjust your vehicle’s mirrors. Make sure the inside rear view mirror frames the entire back window. Adjust both side mirrors so you can barely see the
sides of your vehicle.
