I have relatives in certain small towns. They do very well and live very well. One is a real estate broker. Doesn't sell houses but land. Significant acreages. Also invests. These are not fancy small towns but there's more niches for doing well than people might imagine who aren't familiar with small towns.

They are rich in their area, similar to if a family in Thailand has a house and multiple servants.

I see my friends in NYC with 500k+ incomes and they live in small apartments in Manhattan. They don’t feel rich to me.
