Can't the schools check the registered addresses for cars in the kiss and ride lines? These kids aren't riding the bus or walking. Make it known that there is an enf effort.
How much of this is for sports? I saw the Hayfield comment, that was my thought too.
The schools could do lots of things to shake out the freeloaders. They don't.
They don’t. PP and teacher. When I suspected this, I told the registrar and admin who called and was told they use the grandparents for childcare and it gets a pass even though the child is actually sleeping somewhere else and isn’t cared for by those grandparents every day.

The couple of fam’s that I know are from prince William countyAnonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Not the Hayfield poster.
I do think the Hayfield thing was egregious, but I don't think the problem is as widespread as the poster believes.
It definitely is. Investigations should start in schools in the eastern part of the county that are closer to the PG County Maryland line and Alexandria City. A lot of the cheaters are from MD.
Yes!Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I wish FCPS had a process to check everyone and clean out the books. There is a terrible amount of fraud going on. It’s not fair to the people who pay to live close in to D.C. and then these cheaters live further out and get cheaper housing costs yet use FCPS resources.
Do you yourself know specifically of fraud? I suspect there might be, but I don't know anyone that I think is abusing it.

For our school, the kids are doing it for academics, not sports
They want a bigger cheaper house, so they buy a nicer house in the lower high school pyramid and lie about residency to attend our high school.
Our cheaters are not from Maryland though. They are from adjacent FCPS high schools.

They are not paying taxes either. They are stealing resources from those who are paying taxes.
