If you are in the U.S. illegally, you just have to go back.
Yeah, you can do your own roofing and landscaping from now on. So dumb!
Your argument is:
“but who will pick the cotton?”
Is your argument: "We don't need fresh fruits or vegetables"?
They should round up all the urban young men and if they can’t prove that they have a job or are doing something productive like being the full time carer for a disabled person or studying full time (and actually doing well) then they should bus them all to the fields that need work and keep them there. It’s quite simple really. Be productive or we’ll take you where you can be.
Are you suggesting chain gangs or slavery?
Democrats do love their slavery. They fought to keep it in 1865 and they are demanding to bring it back now apparently.

Right, no landscape or roofing work took place before the borders were opened in January 2021.

I just fail to see how this is a good faith, structured argument. There are a million in between solutions that are more organized and managed. For instance, if we are short on farm workers in any given instance we could launch a seasonal labor or some sort of work permit program and let foreign nationals sign up. Why anyone would think massive illegal immigration is a solution to frictions in the labor market is beyond me, and tells me that they really just have an agenda.
Agree. This used to be put forward as a solution but you never hear it any more. I truly believe this is the way.
Actually, that is not what Democrats say. Not sure why you think people writing that are Democrats, unless they are facetiously throwing the standard Republican line back in your face.
Democrats want enforcement with due process, fair wages, human rights. Evidence of that is in the legislation proposed by Democrats in Congress, which Republicans vote against.

So you're PRO illegal labor and PRO undercutting of middle class blue collar jobs for Americans? Such a winning strategy.
Do you want to work at landscaping or perhaps, in a meat-packing plant? These are not middle-class jobs - they are jobs that most people do not want, so new immigrants will fill them.

Why is it that every single other country in the world with far lower levels of illegal immigration are perfectly capable of picking and growing their own food? Look at countries like South Korea to Japan, which have almost zero illegal immigration compared to the US. Somehow they're capable of producing enough food at very affordable prices that are often cheaper than even the US. How is it that they're capable of doing all of that without hordes of illegal immigration? You're just regurgitating big AG lobbyists' talking points who want to undercut American labor in order to drive up their stock prices.
So all those family farmers are lying when they say they will go bankrupt without these laborers?
