I do not speak for all Union girls parents, but for myself, but I would welcome the albatross of the boys program gone. I have other wishes and wants, but I am the parent not the coach.

Turn your kid into a baller and none of this stuff matters. All you need is a the platform girl need to be ECNL boy need to be MLSN show out and the offers will start rolling in. DD wasnt on the best team or had the best coaches but when she got the ball quality showed and D1 offers came.

I care because I already put down the deposit and about to get charge again! Can I just tell them I want to pull out and they’ll be ok, and will stop charging?

So far as you get out before the next charge which is July 15, you should be okay. You just need to let them know. The $500 deposit is nonrefundable so you will lose that.

The lost a ton of talent at tryouts, and that was after losing unhappy players mid-season. The club has no real leadership, just a bunch of egomaniacal coaches who prioritize kick and run over development, retention, actual coaching or soccer IQ. And CW is old and not at all what he used to be. If they want to compete, changes need to be made at the top. That won’t happen.

No competitive team is developing anyone so put that notion aside but the kick and run is just not true about FVU. Try some other critique that can actually stick.

Im sorry it was confusing for you, there were several critiques in this post, kick and run was just 1. And there are other teams that play possession. The fact that FVU performed against lesser teams and then spiraled downward in the spring against the harder teams that themselves play position is objective proof. But that’s ok, enjoy 6th place.

The 4x training model came from USSF DA days if I recall. USSF DA training model they had clubs implement was 4 trainings a week to 1 live game/scrimmage a week.

How do kids have any semblance of a life with training four times a week (and sometimes two matches on weekends?)

More likely adding one in Loudoun when Arlington goes GA in a year and all those girls try to latch on at FVU. FVU is very healthy and positioned for a steady rise to creating a monopoly in nova necessary to compete nationally

Financially irresponsible...Do you mean ECNL would lose too much money by kicking out a club from ECNL? If your primary concern is the financial aspect, then you are essentially are de-prioritizing standards and performance over slots in ECNL.

I think if Arlington goes GA next year, that would signal the tipping point in this region for ECNL. But yes, there will still be some Arlington families of female players who would transfer to the remaining ECNL clubs... but for how long? And if FVU and Arlington do not offer ECNL, there would only be so many who would chase down slots at VDA or VSA.

But again, I don't think there is any truth to the probation rumor.

If you think this is about anything but money than...

Do you think clubs are picking their league based on money?

Practice one less day a week, use the 4th day to dedicate to inidividual skill development or rest if your are tired/injured; and gurantee a rotation where you know you each player is getting at least 30-40 minutes a game that would help with team dynamics more than just adding an arbitrary 4th practice to be tough and tell our neighbors we do 4x what say says you fool?

No matter how you want to shake it, if competing clubs are getting their teams together on the field 4x a week or more, they're pulling ahead by being able to have those extra days to get whatever it is they're looking to accomplish together as a club/team.

Fine, we'll put lipstick on it and call it counter-attacking or short (short) long
