Agree.

SMU is the Emory of Texas.

It's just a prestige thing - considered much more selective than Wake. But it's not everyone's cup of tea, that's for sure.
Davidson takes the same kids as Wake does at our private. Duke and UNC (oos) much harder admits.
Not at our private, according to Naviance.
Wake goes down to 3.5-3.6uw GPA generally.
Davidson is 3.78-3.82
Duke is 3.9+
I guess Davidson just likes our private better, routinely takes kids ranked 20 to 40 percent and has for years. Seen as a target for most kids. The top twenty percent goes to Ivies and Ivy plus or NESAC. Davidson not on the radar for those kids, more a peer of
Could be.
Think Davidson is for kids at ours who are around the 25% or so. Peer to an Emory or so for us.
We get a lot into both in RD.
It would be helpful if both of you would named your schools. It no like you would be identifying anyone.
My kids attend different Baltimore single sex private schools, and I am the poster who said Davidson draws from the same part of the class as Wake Forest.

+1
Davidson admits at DC’s private Catholic have higher stats vs WF and UNCCH. Duke admits are on par with Ivies.

Hmm. Maybe that’s a regional thing?
Outside of the East Coast it’s viewed more like a Barnard, Middlebury or Colgate for us.
Bucknell is for the bottom of the class.
