DC progressives never miss an opportunity to step on the rake. My favorite is when they decriminalized street vending and then we slowly watched as every CVS in the city was quickly looted. Now we are faced with higher prices, fewer stores, and the indignity of having to find a store clerk just to buy deodorant. The weed store at UDC may be their most visible failure, but they’re not done yet.

It’s illegal under federal to sell marijuana within one thousand feet of a public or private college. This location should never have been licensed in the first place. The fact that it’s on the same block as several “nuisance” properties makes it all the more shocking. Yet also strangely comical and completely on brand for DC.
