I'm embarrassed for both of them that they think the death of a pope and the solemn act of replacing him is a joke. And for you, pp, that you think this is funny.
Oh, please. The pope was a human being, a man - not a deity. And he would be the first person to say so. He lived a long life and then he died. Life goes on and no one is being disrespectful by lightheartedly joking about who his successor will be. Get a grip.

Hey maga sycophants, please please please give us your spin on this one.
He’s just joking! Just joking around with people’s faith. /s
I'm not a MAGA sycophant, but I did vote for Trump. I am neither evangelical Christian, nor Catholic. I am Christian.
I think that this should not have been posted by Trump. I know a lot of Catholics--my guess is this will bother a lot of them, and others, not so much.
I find it in poor taste--but I find a lot of things Trump does in poor taste. I think a lot of things that Biden did were in poor taste, Clinton, etc.
I don't believe it is sacrilegious. But, I am not Catholic.
It’s absolutely sacrilegious.

You are a MAGA christian meaning there is nothing about you that practices the teachings of Christ.

He’s also been divorced a million times, cheated in all of them and has probably forced a few women have abortions.

Just when you think “it’s beyond the pale” has reached its limit…. But wait, there’s more!
I'm veerrryyy temped to send this to my parents who are dedicated Catholics and also voted for Trump. Their buy-in to his lies has been really disheartening.
I think your Catholic parents would prefer a text that you love them and appreciate them... or you're headed to Mass, or getting married, or having kids.

This is so incredibly offensive. Why is he mocking Catholics?
Just trying to dunk on Biden, probably. You’d think JD would be offended too but I think he’s walking back his Catholic identity already.
There's a conservative part of the Catholic church in America that identifies more with evangelical Christians in their political worldviews. Basically, Christian nationalism will expand to include these Catholics, unlike 100 years ago when they would have been targets of Christian nationalist harassment/persecution.
That’s what these conservative Catholics think, but the hatred runs very deep. They’re going to learn that the hard way what the Protestants think of them and honestly, I’m gonna love every second of it.

Leave your parents alone. They probably think you take yourself too seriously.
Yes. Catholics that vote for Trump don't seriously think that he cares about abortion or the pope or the Bible. They know he does not and that he uses these issues to get votes and sells the Bibles to get money. And they don't care about his sinning and sacrilege.
This is why I have pretty much left the church. The MAGAs have taken over and are destroying the church from the inside out.
