Are you still at this hotel?

Embassy Suites are great. It’s not the Ritz, but rooms are spacious and for a free breakfast, it’s pretty good.
+1. My teens love Embassy Suites. If you offered them Embassy Suites or a fancier hotel with just 2 Queen beds and no free breakfast, they would take Embassy Suites all day long.

Clean
Comfortable bed
Room with either blackout shades or enough window coverings sunrise isn't gonna blind me
Bathroom that's well lit/aesthetically pleasing
Pretty lobby/hotel with a restaurant (tie)
Typically speaking I'm looking at $400+ rooms in order to hit most of this as an avg regardless of location unless it's a b&b.

Oxymoron.
Have you never been to Europe? Asia? I've had some exceptional free breakfasts at hotels overseas before. They are nothing like a Quality Inn free breakfast. Also if you have high status with chains like Marriott or Hilton and stay at the higher end properties, they have amazing free breakfast buffets.

View from the window
Nice shower & full size toiletries
Microwave
Non slip shower. I hate the showers in baths that you have to perform gymnastics to enter and exit.
