I think that's pretty much the point. You have a handful of people who don't like Torey and no specific reasons or examples to back any of the allegations. This could be one parent whose kid didn't get to swim at Winter Classic driving all of this or perhaps a coach or owner of another club who lost a location and is also being vocal with their grudge. Without specifics, volume of threads on an anonymous site means nothing. Each and every time details are asked for, the only responses are vague hints or ridiculous statements (the coach is chummy because he swam a relay against his kids in practice one day; some coaches talk smack about their swimmers and I can picture him doing it so he must have; he won a competitive contract but it must have been a sham because there is no way he could figure out how many swimmers a facility could hold and how much to charge per swimmer to underbid two other clubs by eating into his own profit).
If anything, the volume of threads shows me how ridiculous this all is. Can't we go back to just complaining about how tech suits are unfair in the NVSL, little kids shouldn't have to be walked off for false starts and how d1 teams don't support all star relays?
The denial is strong!
I was thinking the same thing!

Okay elaborate . Please
Anonymous wrote:End of the day any coach with any sort of good sense would know where the line is between being friendly but professional with the parents of the kids you coach and actually being chummy with them. If Torey wants his Club to be successful he needs to learn how to do that quickly.
The fact that he was bad mouthing some of his swimmers does not shock me at all…sounds about right based on everything else I have heard about him or witnessed myself in the summer. There is a reason my kids don’t swim hot him at York.

Anonymous wrote:I’m glad this thread has turned into a landing page for every disgruntled parent of a 9 year old swimmer who thinks their kid is the next Olympian. You should all be embarrassed to post of all this b-s anonymously without any shred of evidence.

Except that they don't always follow that even then. Happened to my DS several times. It's wild.
Happens with T all the time. His tuckahoe swimmers have gotten preferential treatment for years. Winter Classic rosters are a perfect example.
This is BS. The great thing about this sport is it really is empirical and the times are readily available. Spent two minutes looking it up: went to meet mobile to see who swam for York at the Winter Classic and then compared to the rankings on swimcloud for York filtered by age group to see who was highest rated and then compared to the roster on mynvsl to see the Tuckahoe list. Results are that this post is full of crap. No swimmer got passed over so a Tuckahoe kid could swim who didn't earn it.
If your kid didn't get to swim I understand you may be looking for other reasons to rationalize it, but don't spread your hatred here with thin allegations.
