Have each of the 25+ high schools been mentioned as having good energy? If not, something is wrong? What's happening over the summer to help staff return to schools with good energy?

See toxic admin fire and destroy careers of teachers and they forever go unchecked. Admin get big dollar payouts and CO protection, kids get their lives messed up by getting assaulted by bullies, and teacher lose their jobs by reporting crime. It's corruption.

What has happened at Cold spring? I worked there for years and was always happy.

Lots of... change. New principal is showing true colors.

Hard to be too anonymous at a school that size, but... Let's say I know people who worked with the current principal and the previous two. Marty was pretty well liked, and I think people were generally less fond of the one that followed. Current one seemed good, welcome change. Disappointed to hear if she is taking charge in the wrong direction.

Stay away from Tubman. Principal is a nightmare. Agree with the previous posters! She was AWFUL to a friend of mine and made her life hell. I would never want to work for her after what I’ve heard

I know of several staff members who have previously eft or are leaving Tubman and the reasons given is that the principal is straight-up toxic and doesn't support teachers, at all. (I felt the opposite about their AP, who seems to be better suited.)

I know two former Tubman teachers who both said the principal is a bully. You’ve been warned.

Ironically enough that school is still new and still better than most ES's in the Gaithersburg HS cluster

What about elementary schools? Which ones to avoid and which are good? Looking for a change.

Are you sure?? Someone who visited there recently told me it’s a HOT MESS.

I am sure that person said it in jest.

I have heard nothing but bad things from MVMS.

That’s the school last year, along with Watkins Mill, that made the news about parents coming onto school grounds to fight students. It’s absolutely not a school with good energy.

WMHS does have good energy, isolated incidents outside their control don't take that away from the school

They aren’t isolated but ok. It’s not a good school as far as culture. I mean they just had a lockdown because a student who doesn’t go there snuck in and stabbed another student. But I guess we all have different priorities. I’d be worried for my child’s safety there imo.

People who pretend all is hunky dory at WMHS are burying their heads in the sand.

I think they're tired of high minority schools being demonized for community problems that are out of the hard working teachers' hands

Same with Rockville High (coming from an ex-Rockville parent). That school somehow become a cesspool
