Yes! I actually live abroad (Europe) and it's quite common for me to hear from people how much they love America when I say where I'm from. My Canadian family knows we all hate Trump as much as they do. They've told us we can come stay with them if the US goes full Gilead.

Well, at least a third of Americans ARE “evil and in agreement with Trump”. You have the Trump voters, the Congresspeople who vote in lockstep with Trump, the portion of the judiciary who are Trump supporters, Trump’s Cabinet, and an unknown percentage of the military. Canadians are “very smart” and very prudent to be wary of all of these people. And good for them that they listen when they are warned about the realities of the current Trump administration.

There is, indeed, a large group of people who “are not very smart” in play here — but they’re not Canadian, and have earned the hatred.
