According to your data, only 79% of 12th graders in FCPS are fully vaccinated. I wouldn't call that very high.
Herd immunity is going away..
I was born in 1961 (I fall into that period with the possibly ineffective shot) and went and got the shot again last week. I don't want to get sick.

This is not because of immigrants. It's the anti-vaxxers who are white and middle or upper class or people like Mennonites. They are usually religiously conservative or crunchy new age types into alternate medicine (which works as long as you don't get really sick).

My best friend growing up had to delay getting fully vaccinated because she was diagnosed with Leukemia very young. She had to wait until the treatment was totally done to get caught up. Kids like her depend on herd immunity.
I also don't think kids deserve to suffer for the mistakes of their parents. The schools and pediatricians really need to get strict about exemptions. Studies have generally shown parents will choose to vaccinate if the consequences are getting dismissed from school or medical practices. Yes the more hardcore will homeschool but they're very hard to reach under any circumstances.

What a joke. Illegal immigrants actually vaccinate their children before they send them to school - there are free vaccination clinics that they can attend. It's typically white Americans that are anti-vaxxers and claim to require religious exemptions.

*I* literally spent hours and hours of my weekends and evenings signing people up for COVID vaccines as part of the Maryland Vaccine Hunters Facebook group. I helped scores and scores of people get their appointments. Some of them are still in touch with me to this day. I went out of my way to get them appointments and advise them on logistics. I also donate consistently to global health organizations. What have you ever, actively done to promote vaccines?
I agree with you completely-And also what these people who so violently want people to die to prove their point don’t understand is that it’s children who will die. Children have absolutely no control over getting themselves vaccinated. Zero. They can’t drive themselves to a clinic and say they want a vaccine. Their parents are in complete control. And because people aren’t born to be against vaccines (statistically this is something they decide in adulthood and then of course force on their children) the parents of these unvaccinated children are typically protected (obviously this doesn’t apply to the entire communities that have been against them for generations).
So when you go on about how you don’t feel bad and people will get what they voted for and deserve etc…you are actually wishing death upon innocent children-not their parents. A child really has no say in their own medical care until they turn 18. And by these types of comments you are hoping they never see that age.
