My question is what does that say about the development at the club if that many players have been cut over a 2yr span from 1 team? Maybe ECNL should really go back to not having teams at the U13 age group for starters.

It says that VDA develops their own, but won’t hesitate to replace you if a better player comes along. I respect that even though it might seem
unfair to certain parents on DCUM.

That's one way to look at it. I think we're talking about upwards of 8-10 players though in that period. That's abnormally high turnover. As a parent that might be coming in at U13 you have to question whether or not they'd get better development elsewhere. No knock on them given the reputation at the HS age groups, you just can't ignore that. Someone surely has enough time on their hands to go see how many original players remain on each team from the pwsi vsa pipeline.

Pretty easy to see the homegrown talent on the high school age teams. Rosters are online. Vda is doing what any other club would do, they take the top players that attend their ID sessions. I expect my DD‘s coach to take the best players available for her team and not have silly loyalty because a certain player started at the club when they were a u little. Players don’t have any loyalty to the clubs and the clubs don’t have any loyalty to the players.

Plenty of homegrown players on VDA, but definitely agree that ECNL, or any NL platform really is unnecessary until U15/16

If you are just joining ECNL at U16 and you hope to get recruited, you are behind the 8-ball....

That is a false narrative. That is for parents that are insecure about kids potential and talent. Let's be real here. None of these clubs are loyal...ecnl...GA...mla...etc.... If you kid is good they will cut a kid in a heartbeat and sleep like a baby.

I'm not talking about making a team, I'm talking being (highly) recruited. You face an uphill battle if you're (on the girls side) just being seen for the very first time by college coaches during sophomore year. Not impossible for sure, and if you have the talent, it's certainly do-able. But the longer the runway, the better. But I'd agree that at U13 it's too early.

This is the approach of all teams, and is spot on.

For 2011 going into next year I think only 9 remain out of 19 or 20 committed, forget how many are actually on at the moment for next year since they're still trialing more players.

Only national team level players are being recruited before u16. Stop spreading misinformation. Plenty of D1 spots available for ECNL and some GA players and it all begins at u16

Absolutely. Nobody should expect loyalty anywhere in this, from the club or the players.

Returning players have gotten their offers. New players have gotten their offers. If your DD is on the team, then you can see next year‘s roster.

That wasn't what I was getting at. Just agreeing that the platform itself shouldn't even begin until those ages, not at U13.
