The campus is not in the heart of Boston but there is a T train stop right on campus and its easy to get to the city. Good luck to all students making their choices.

I’ve never even seen the campus, but I know so many successful Tufts alumni. It seems to produce a lot of happy adults.

It’s really annoying when people come here and trash Tufts, Northeastern, UChicago, Bucknell, Columbia and a few other schools for no reason other than the fact that they market hard, have some problems with managing protests and try to get good US News rankings.

Tufts vs GW for international affairs... similar outcomes? Aside from one having more grass and the other having more pre-professional students, is the social life significantly different?

I’ve had a couple of interns from Tufts; super impressive kids. Not sure where the hate comes from.

Correction ^ above-poster’s kid didn’t like Tufts enough to apply there. Parent liked Tufts better. Don’t assume

Other than the obvious of Harvard and MIT the rest of those Boston schools have no”Wow” factor.

Money worth depends more on majors.

"Worth the money" is subjective.
Location is subjective.
Fit is subjective.
Better... for what student and what major?
"Much lower cost" ignores stated OOS distinction.

This site is nuts. Worth a laugh sometimes, but nuts.

Yes. But that criticism could be applied to BC, BU, NEU, Brandeis, Harvard, MIT, Wellesley... the list goes on - just in or around Boston. Even desirable OOS Publics like Michigan (85k) and Berkeley (89k) are eye-opening.

The "superior" location argument is clearly subjective.

Bottom line is Tufts offers a strong education and environment, meeting desirable criteria for many students while perhaps falling short for others. The Boston universities all offer something unique from one another that will either appeal to you or not.

The only visit/tour my kid left early was Yale - hated it, though I'd never criticize it beyond being "bad fit" for DC.

Why are BU and NEU better locations?

Some people hate grass.

What’s wrong with grass?
