It’s a normal part of growing up, nothing you can do but be patient and pull-ups have just made it a lot easier to keep things sanitary. Parents used to spend hours washing sheets and bedding and for many kids it was traumatic. If you want to try alarms or medication that’s up to you but I would never criticize a parent who just waited it out.
