We get small, meaningful things (I suspect I’m getting a silver photo frame of a photo he took on a trip recently) but we would never miss the opportunity.

He got me a card, flowers and chocolates but he didn't write anything in the card, just had DD pick it and draw in it. I think he mostly wanted to let DD pick stuff out she liked. He groaned when he saw I had gotten him something he's told me he wanted and ignored the card I got him (and wrote in).
That is not a Valentine’s Day problem, that is a relationship problem.

Meanwhile a colleague of mine flirts with me hardcore and I suspect got me something. Sigh. It’s hard not to start an affair when H puts in zero effort and this other guy pays SO much attention to me.
I know reality is colleague would also behave the same way in a relationship because that’s what men do. Once it’s locked down, no need to put in any effort. But still.
