DEI was so unpopular. What were we thinking? Democrats and educators pushed too far, and when you push too far, there is always blowback.

Trump will push too far and the pendulum will swing back. Hopefully Dems don’t interpret that as popularity for progressive ideas.

100% Truth. But from what I continue to see most Democrats refuse to do this self-reflection and will refuse to make these changes. Most refuse to even admit that they went too far left. From what I see all they want to do is a repeat of what the DNC platform was during the last administration. Remember Kamala's words "I wouldn't change a thing".

That's what lost the election. But if Democrats simply go with a platform where they promise to bring back DEI, bring back all the gender pronouns and basically roll back every single thing the GOP Administration does in its 4 years...there's no hope.

I would love to see a third party rise from the ashes like a phoenix - the Common Sense Party.

And I do not see the Democrats winning until they figure out how to become truly pro-labor while also not angering the wealthy identity-focused donors who would prefer to keep labor weak.

I don't think the progressive wing constitutes a majority of Dems. And frankly they are losing us national elections. The Dems need to temper the progressives down a bit and refocus on the working class.

Np here. I appreciate your input, and we need more people like you to share that perspective. And then we need to listen to these perspectives and share them with our representatives.

The bolded part - I hear this so often - about liberal elitists who can’t relate to them. And then they vote for…Trump? An actual silver spoon baby who lives in a golden tower/golden country club? I don’t think he was once seen interacting with a middle/lower class person prior to bursting into politics. I can’t think of a less relatable person. Why isn’t he accused of being an elitist nearly as much as democrats who came from a more modest background and worked hard to get where they are?

Trump is wealthy that is true- but he is white tr___ ok, anyone can see that. He is German/scotch, eats overcooked meat with ketchup, wears ill fitting clothes and has ugly hair. he might be of a high economic class but socially- despite wharton (pfff Pennsylvania)- hes in british parlance common, he is not of the same social intellectual class as say Tom Cotton, Hawley, Obama etc. He is not hip, he is no different culturally than someone living on the gulf coast in a trailer and that is obvious. Lets be honest- joe biden has "bettered' himself but is capable of showing that side of himself. that is what most americans want-
