It would be way more helpful if we organized a drive to raise money for those impacted by the deportation raids. However that takes effort and it’s easier to do a meaningless, performative gesture that causes parents to suffer.
If it's that unreliable in your experience, why would you stay?
This is a new phenomenon. The school has new leadership. The school has become like a coworker who is constantly calling in sick or otherwise finding some excuse why he or she can't come into work. It's constantly closing for reasons that are not well explained. As a parent, it can feel like your child doesn't get to go to school all that often.
Does "all that often" mean once a month, once a quarter, once a year? How often is LAMB "calling in sick" so that it impacts the regular attendance of school children? School closures are hard especially when unexpected but I wonder if the bigger issue is the threat of uncertainty rather than the actual number of unexpected closure days.
Look at the school calendar. There aren't that many weeks in the entire school year where school is in session for five whole days.
Yes but that's not the same thing as saying that the school "has become like a coworker who is constantly calling in sick or otherwise finding some excuse why he or she can't come into work. It's constantly closing for reasons that are not well explained. As a parent, it can feel like your child doesn't get to go to school all that often." Was the calendar published in advance of the school year? Have there been multiple days after the school year started and after the calendar was provided to parents that the school called for closure for reasons that were not well explained?
Also, school is in session for five days for most weeks of each month. There is one PD day a month and in some months, there is a holiday or spring break. Most weeks the school is in session for five whole days (according to the published calendar).
There's 19 weeks in which the school takes times off. That's almost every other week of the entire school year. If I did that in my job, I would be fired.

So incredibly dramatic.
Anonymous wrote:Seriously this post is the same 5 people posting over and over again. I can tell by the tone and language used on parent square - same 5 out of 600 families complaining. I had two kids graduate from lamb and it has been a good experience. Kids well prepared for middle. If you’re not a lamb family yet, I wouldn’t rely on this chain to help you decide. These families will soon be DCI’s problem.

Posting on an anonymous message board. Oh, soooooo brave.
Please.
