Yes, those were the good old days. Now tweens/teens that are home alone over the summers spend 7+ hours per day staring at their phones. They do not spend it roaming the neighborhood, watching TV, and picking up new hobbies. Some parents are fine with the hours upon hours of staring at phones. But, as a high school teacher, I think it is not good for our teens, to say the least.

A phone, not a smart phone, but a dumb phone would be good in this situation.
