And all that produce coming from Mexico? You're gonna remember Biden's inflation fondly.
Not really.. Sellers will expedite imports right now, before Jan 20. Inventory will rise. Same sellers will become greedy and try to sell those goods at 'post tariff' prices. Goods will sit on shelves for a couple of months followed by fire sale! That's the best time to buy.
Also, technically, Tariffs are a one-time increase to a price and by definition are not inflationary.

Joe will get a nice bump as everyone preps.

Both countries will almost certainly retaliate with similar tariff's if Trump goes through with this, since it would render the trade deal null and void.
It's also different then what he said he'd do during the campaign. He is so disorganized and random. He probably had a conversation with someone about fentanyl and someone else said they could maybe use tariffs to address it and then just posted this out without vetting it or discussing it with his policy staff.
He is so bad at this job, even setting policy aside, I cannot believe he's been re-elected when he actually hates being president and doesn't know how to do it effectively at all.
1. I'm convinced he never wanted to be president beyond the name recognition.
2. I'm convinced he only ran because he made some deals with bad people and he owes them
3. I'm convinced he only ran to stay out of jail and maybe line his pockets by doing the bidding of the bad guys behind him.

Not a lot of people are buying new IPhones and refrigerators as the privileged of DCUM do.
A lot of people buy new phones, even when it's not in the budget, the same people who claim the can't afford groceries. Speaking of groceries tariffs are going to in pact that too

Trump said the tariffs would remain in place until the two countries clamp down on drugs, particularly fentanyl, and migrants crossing the border illegally.
Bipartisan border bill had language to deal with fentanyl but Trump killed it.
Maybe you're not familiar with this Republican sponsored bill that passed into law?

That's a watered down version of the language that was in the Bipartisan Bill, not seeing the parts about going after the cartels and international sanctions against those in the fentanyl and precursor pipeline.

So much for cars, produce and most of what people buy at Walmart and Target. I guess their bribe wasn't enough.
And exactly what is the problem with this?
That you will pay more for everything. You think things are expensive now? Just wait.
Yes,who do you think is going to pay the 25% increase?
