I have encountered this too on dates. I always say please order whatever you'd like. But I try to choose moderately priced wine when my date and I share a bottle.
I'm a professional man and I almost always end up paying the bill even though I'm a liberal and I date professional women. One time a professional woman insisted on paying for both of us because she had invited me to a fancy bar. She had ordered a beer and she didn't realize that I had ordered a very expensive glass of scotch (over $40). She looked stunned when she saw the bill. She unmatched me that night.
I assume you ordered the expensive scotch before you knew she was paying!![]()

$9 a day for 30 days is $270/mo. Which is $1080 over 4 months.
The little things add up.
$9 every Friday is $468 which is almost nothing

She is asking because this is commonplace for them and he obviously holds the purse strings. He is acting flustered because she lacks the social savvy to keep this embarrassing dynamic hidden.
