PG County schools, crime, and politicians all have bad reputations but I'm still not voting for Hogan.
So you are voting for the Democrat tax cheater?
I suppose if a democrat cheats or breaks the law, that’s perfectly fine.

Being county executive of a 40k person town doesn't make you qualified to be a US Senator!
What were Trump’s qualifications to be POTUS?
What is wrong with a Harris | Hogan ballot???
People who are disconnected from state politics don't understand. Hogan is no an anti Trump. He may say he is but he is actually the "lipstick on a pig" version of Trump. I will give Hogan that he is against J6 and that makes him meet a very low standard of acceptability. But he is anti immigrant and quietly stokes hatred against immigrants just like the GOP (e.g. falsely claiming a school was not cooperating with police in regards to an alleged rape by undocumented students - school got death threats). He redirected state funding from mass transit in Baltimore to roads projects near his properties. He refused to send more covid vaccines to Montgomery County where there was demand for them. He spent millions on Covid tests from Korea that couldn't be used - without following basic rules for public spending (they had no written contract, no procurement process, no checking to see if they met fda requirements). Under his watch the GDP of Maryland did not grow one little bit (but his business made money).
His wife is from Korea so it's definitely strange he doesn't like immigrants unless he marries them. Also strange he ordered those test kits from Korea of all places, especially since his wife is from there...
You're welcome to disagree on policy regarding immigration and not-legally-approved immigrants, but there isn't anything weird about someone supporting legally approved immigrants but not supporting funding and freedom to roam the USA for people who do not have a legal right to be here.
If you can't understand and engage that honestly, no one will take your unserious opinions seriously.
If you want the USA and it's States to be caretakers for all the world's suffering people, you need to propose or support a realistic plan, not "someone will pay for everything and it will be fine".

A regular centrist Republican, with regular bipartisan level of self-sealing behavior, is now "lipstick on a Trump pig"? Do words have meaning anymore?
I agree. Anyone who has paid attention to national and Maryland local politics for the past 8 to 10 years knows that Hogan is as far from a Trump puppet Republican as there is on the GOP spectrum. I won't be voting for Hogan in his bid for a Senate seat but that has nothing to do with my personal views of his character and abilities as an executive or lawmaker. Character and abilities as an executive are the primary reasons l won't be voting for Trump.

Anonymous wrote:on one hand crime is up but she did defund the police so that’s good. It’s important that we support equitable investment that focus on the root causes of systemic racism and she does exactly that. Everyone has to suffer a little bit before it gets better and no one is perfect.
It is important that County Executive Alsobrooks is taking these steps to decriminalize the youth by cutting the HUGE police budget to a more bare minimum 9-5 type department.
Remember, just like she put it so amazingly, more cops doesn’t always make streets safer!
Proving this, while her county has made HUGE progress defunding the police and allowing the money to go into communities, the crime is very minimal. Less than a thousand homicides in the ENTIRE YEAR of 2023!
I think she has a strong vision. Who cares if she cheats a little tax
