Speak for yourself. Looting, assault, attempted murder, and arson aren't exactly doing wonders for civilization. To you it's a bunch of gucci bags. To others it's a breakdown in the rules and norms and public order that human beings need for society to function safely for everyone. I hope "The Government" prosecutes these people hard.

It hurts the businesses in those areas (including employees who work there and people who shop there). It negatively affects residents and tourists who want to enjoy the area. It creates a downward spiral of crime. Insurance premiums go up for all sorts of businesses. Police officers (who aren’t all evil despite some narratives) are putting their own safety in danger.
But it feels good to try to act morally superior by making this about consumerism so people will tout this garbage while patting themselves heartily on the back.

Dems don't want safety and security in their communities?
I want my community secured from Dems. They’re the ones committing the crime where I live.
Statistically you are more likely to be the victim of a violent crime in a town of fewer than 100k than in a city. You know, the MAGA-filled sh*tholes of America.
Statistically, the violent crime rate in Baltimore, MD, is 15.5. The violent crime rate in Cumberland, MD is 6.07. And that only began to increase when the families of prisoners followed them to the Maryland state prison near Cumberland.
Nobody said every small town.
The most dangerous city in Maryland is Ocean City, an Atlantic resort town in Worcester County. The town's population is roughly 6,844, with a total crime rate that is 401% above the national average.
It’s clearly because of excessive alcohol consumption. But Ocean City police are on it and they also sweat the small stuff. We’ve seen OC cops pull over someone on a motor scooter who rode right through a red light. I wish that MPD would do that once on a while in Washington DC!
Scooters aren't cars or bikes. They don't have to follow your silly rules.
Same with quads. Or dirt bikes with no license plate.
In D.C.

While any loss of life is tragic, it's so strange to me that WaPo continues to run articles like this, acting as though this guy was a saint. Meanwhile, it's crickets when it comes to all of the victims of gun violence every year in DC whose deaths didn't involve a police officer.
Remember the family stated that they went public with the bodycam video after a lawyer told them to. I think the lawyer is now behind all these stories, though the police-hating Post is obviously playing along. I hope that DC doesn't give them anything.

The *full time* population is ~6,800. The people who live there year-round.
The transient population (tourists, weekenders, guest workers) is 200,000+ during the summer. Ocean City is the 2nd largest city in Maryland from June-August, when it displaces Rockville from the #2 spot after Baltimore.
You are the WORST kind of lying liar. The one that misuses statistics to deceive others. Shame on you.

Oh well, in THAT case, so was January 6th!
Those were angry white people - not civil rights.
They weren’t angry. How do we know this?
When black people get angry, they burn down buildings and maybe even neighborhoods. When white people get angry, they burn down nations and sometimes even continents.
Those white people clearly weren’t angry. Yet.
