Lewis Carroll (Charles Dodgson) abused kids, notably the girl who inspired the Alice character, and yet Disney still made a blockbuster animated movie about Alice in Wonderland, and the images and stories of Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass are everywhere.

In the name of Art, many things are forgotten.

He always insisted he was innocent though. I don’t think he lived a great life afterward. He died in his sleep unexpectedly at the fairly young age of 50. He was the first to die in his family


He died of a drug overdose he demanded just like matt perry. It's very expected.

I find the Woody Allen thing conflicting. Most of the negativity around him comes from Mia. Mia had plenty of her own problems. Well we do know he married his adopted daughter, so, that's enough for me.


He didn’t adopt her. She has another dad.


He met her when she was 9 and "rasied" her to be his wife. The Marquis deSade wrote a book about it. I'm sure Woody read it and made it happen for himself. He's a sick dude. His daughter/wife is also not so bright and I personally think it's another sin to take advantage of a not-bright person.

But I also don’t want to listen to his music anymore because the music reminds me of him, how weird he was, what he may or may not have done, and it’s just not something I want to support. There’s plenty of other options that don’t make me feel gross. I’ve heard his music, it’s decades old now, don’t need to hear it anymore.

if he were alive, paying to watch his shows or buy his music would feel icky (like im making it possible for him to continue the abuse). But he’s dead. I don’t see the harm in listening to the songs and feeling nostalgic for what may have been happening in my life back then.

If it makes you feel icky to hear his songs now, then by all means don’t listen. But I don’t think there should be any judgment either way.

If you only ingest art by “good” people, you’d be spending a lot of time doing background checks.

This seems quite a delusional fairy tale. I thought his accusers accurately described his penis.


The accusers also said he gave them “Jesus juice” wine and pills.

One of the accusers was on medication and dying of cancer but apparently drank and took pills without issue. Lots of things that didn’t add up and that’s why the jury voted not guilty.


But Jackson also had a huge 20M settlement with one of his accusers.

I don’t think he was a pedophile. I also think he shared a bed with the kids because he recognized (from his own childhood) something lonely and unloved in them and thought he was being a good friend (like being a comforting presence basically). Agree that he was mentally a child and therefore it never occurred to him that what he was doing was inappropriate or that the vast majority of people would see it as such.

While he may not of thought that way I can’t see his manger/label or father not saying something to him. Like you can’t be a bad boy or try to be a sex symbol and hang out with kids like this. People will question you and you’re opening yourself up to lawsuits.


But he never tried to be a sex symbol or bad boy? You see this more as his music goes on. If anything he tried to reject those boxes.

Michael had too much money unfortunately to be corrected. His family lived off him. They knew he was weird but what can they do really? His Vice wasn’t gambling or drugs or alcohol or women like most other entertainers.

He had severe disassociation. He thought he was Peter Pan. He wanted to look like Peter Pan. He didn’t want to be black or a man. He wanted to be a kid. He watched cartoons as an adult.

He didn’t live in the reality of who he was.
