this is the full quote from TMZ on the “fat shaming”:
“ According to our sources, Justin has a history of back problems and before lifting Blake, he went to his on-set trainer and asked how much she weighed and how could he train to protect his back from injury.”
Wtf. He was very discreet in asking a completely reasonable question. Team Justin.

Justin optioned the book to become a movie before it really got big. But just as his option was about to run out….interesting timing because the book got really big. Instead of optioning out and giving her the rights to sell it at a much higher price to someone else, he retained the rights. So she missed out on a really huge payday.
That’s nothing like what Scooter Braun did.
I’m sorry this makes no sense. He had the common sense to buy it before anyone else knew it might be big which seems very business savvy on his part. What other businessman would we expect to be like, Wow this got really big, I’m gonna let another person buy it
and completely lose out!
That is absolutely insane. I mean, unless you’re saying he should give her the right to buy it back? Even so, is that how the business world really works? Do we really expect anyone to operate that way? And would he take a loss? So basically just because he decided to buy it at a really smart time, he should be punished and not have the rights at all and just give it away,….i am really confused about what he did wrong here.
Also Colleen Hoover stayed very involved so she’s clearly making bank from this. She also asked him to direct and star. I don’t know this is just not adding up what he did wrong.

Wtf. Blake was pregnant and had announced her pregnancy before this. Why would she snap back and basically call the girl fat? I am appalled by her behavior. She's obviously extremely insecure and lashes out at everyone because of it.
Did you see the interviewers face? She ran out of there as soon as she could. This is not how you treat people.
Parley Posey was such a mean girl too. Did anyone catch the eye roll in the last few seconds of the video? Awful people and totally unprofessional.

Quoting myself to correct Parker*

I saw one where the interviewer said, for women who identify with this film and want to share their story with you, how best should they approach you? And Blake basically answered that they shouldn’t - and then she went on to mock anyone who would want to approach her? I wonder if she was speaking off the record? It was so bad.
I was intrigued so I looked and found it. Her costar looked mortified.

Yes, that's the one! Thanks PP for finding! She comes across tone-deaf and rude.

Combined with the fact that she made her own cut that then failed in testing and now the director won’t speak to her. I usually love her and I still love a lot of things about her but a. Never noticed her hair being so amazing and b. Don’t springboard off a movie to launch a hair line. She could easily have done that whenever. Just feel so cringe
That’s not completely true ….what I will say is…. It’s not just Blake and Justin Baldoni (director/main character) not talking to each other – it’s pretty much the entire cast/Colleen Hoover Also not doing any press with Justin – and no longer following him on social media. Justin only took pictures with his wife on the red carpet at the Premier and had no interactions with the rest of the cast. Sounds like Blake and Ryan had to infuse a ton of money into the movie to get it back on track.
Yeah, I’ve been reading about this. But the way everyone has turned on the director feels very - middle school ostracism. It’s cruel and unkind and gives me flashbacks to my youth! That being said, maybe he did something egregious.
Agree. What irks me is that Colleen really bought for him to direct and play the character. And so for her to turn against them like that just seems like she got caught up in the whole Blake lively and her hair phenomenon lol.
I get it - she’s a star, but it does seem petty of Colleen and like she just acts on a whim. Justin is not a newcomer… He is pretty established in Hollywood so it would be surprising if he did something completely egregious and we aren’t hearing about it. He seems like a really nice guy, devoted to his wife, has a ton of fans, just seems weird that they turned against him.
I’m excited to see the movie but also happy that the press etc.
is going to die down now that opening opening weekend is done.
Even if they had a difference of opinion creatively or he was a bad director - to unfollow on social media and refuse to appear with him…very immature.
And apparently the screenwriter was surprised to learn that Ryan Reynolds rewrote some scenes. That’s disrespectful of someone who I imagine has had great professional success in the industry. I don’t like the egos.
This is completely normal for Hollywood. Happens all the time.
Someone's husband swoops in and rewrites scenes?
You can't look at Ryan Reynolds as "someone's husband" when it comes to Hollywood. He has becomes a major force (I mean, I like him, but his rise in power is pretty astounding) and that gives him the ability to do what he wants with a script he is involved in, given the money he/they put into it.
Plenty of Hollywood writers have gotten far worse treatment after writing a script.
He is absolutely someone's husband, an action dude with great business sense not known for his sensitivity. I'd be pretty pissed if writing a movie about DV and the Deadpool guy comes in and rewrites. How can her coworkers respect her (I know they do on the surface, because Ryan Reynolds money)? She can't do one thing independently? It's sad and unnecessary if her point is to be taken seriously as an actress.
