Another enthusiastic vote for Pittsburgh! Stayed in a Drury hotel that was a renovated Federal Reserve building with neat features like enormous bank vault doors. Andy Warhol museum was fun, as was the aviary and incline. We combined with a trip to Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater. Not sure I need to go back, but the whole family (teen kids) enjoyed the trip.

I’m not the pp who posted about Natural Bridge but I agree it’s a lovely place for a quick weekend trip. It’s an easy, beautiful “hike” that even little kids can manage. Great photo ops. There’s a drive through safari nearby. We got an Airbnb and there were several really cool options nearby. We ended up staying in a teepee, which DS loved.

I’m the PP. The rock formation is just so big it is really impressive. (Maybe that’s not the right word.) And yes, I agree with the PP above that the hike/walk is easy. It’s pretty flat and paved.

I agree about Pittsburgh! Surprised as all get out that I loved it. Growing up in Cleveland I was sort of groomed to hate it, but there is so much character in that city!

Not that poster, but the children's museum is great and so is the National Aviary. You can meet and/or feed different birds. There's a lot more that we didn't get a chance to do like the Duquesne Incline (I've done other incline railways and they're really cool) and other museums.

Probably did some stuff I've forgotten because it was years ago, but we really enjoyed it and would definitely go back except we want to go everywhere else too! So who knows when we'll get around to it.

Sure! We stayed at a hotel near the ballpark. There are lots of casual restaurants there plus a walking path that runs along the river. We found a nice fountain where lots of kids were playing in the water and there a cool statute of Mr Roger’s. We went to re Carnegie museum and another museum (maybe children’s museum) and both were great. The pirates were out of town or we would have gone to a game. We didn’t get a chance to do the funicular. We went into the downtown area and ate at primantis and there was some cool downtown art. We didn’t go to the nice restaurants but I have on work trips — there are several good ones. Then we went to seven springs ski resort which was a little run down but it was a nice mountain visit with some summer fun type activities. Very easy trip and very fun for the amount we spent!
