Really? What's some middle of the ground territory he's staked out?
Immigration
War
Vaccines
Telling Republicans last year to not cut a penny out of Social Security and Medicare during the debt ceiling talks. Biden didn’t even say that.
Trump has the Republican Party by the neck and has dragged them to the left kicking and screaming when it comes to illegals immigration, SS and Medicare which Trump never calls entitlements, and Russia.
Trump was so awful for Repubs that Republicans were sure the Clintons sent him to be a plant . They did not

There is a lot of room in the democratic tent for people who are pro-choice and don't want crazy running the country.
I would argue that Biden is much closer to Reagan than most of the current GOP.
What about a pro life democrat. Is there room for them?
I'm certain some dems are pro-life but just aren't into forcing their values on others like the MAGAs.
That's rich...and ignorant...so you are actually going to tell me that Dems aren't into forcing their values on others? You know...I wasn't going to vote for Trump if a moderate Dem whose values unify the country actually ran...but your comment is why many moderate Dems are not happy....so still not sure I'll vote for Trump...you Dems better nominate someone to unify the country because right now neither side is doing this successfully and if you can't see that you are wearing blinders.

Yes, illegal immigration and amnesty for cheap laborers was a Republican thing. Expanding the federal government with ICE is a leftist policy .
Republicans have moved "left" on Russia, because they admire its authoritarianism. Seeing Tucker Carlson nearly cry about the beauty of Russia almost sent me into a coma.
They definitely have gotten less War hawk-ish, but I disagree with Republicans on one point, and it's that US interests really do matter and we should assert ourselves as the global hegemony. I just don't really see why we should cede our interests to China.
The Republicans weren’t the ones who banned an open primary process and free speech and reporting toward the President . It seems to me the Dems are the authoritarian ones
By the way, Ukraine is just as authoritarian as Putin is . Zelensky cracks down on opposition so I’m confused as to how we are supporting the moral victor here?
Trump voted Democrat in the past
Zelensky is Ukrainian and Russia is taking Ukrainian territory. What's the difficulty here?
And this is the stance that’s pushed many progressives to vote for Trump.
The neoliberals and neocons are lockstep when it comes to Defending the freedom of foreigners over our own backyard.

Left on Russia? uhhh... no.
Yes . Supporting anything Soviet was seen as the mark of a leftist as was anyone railing against illegal immigration/cheap labor .
Unions have even dumped Biden for Trump. They realized he is a one man walking and talking labor Union for Americans
do you know that the USSR hasn't been around for nearly 40 years?
you kind of have a point on immigration, but it's really more just the reality that the Dems are the big tent party—immigrants, minorities, working-class, educated, women, etc. all have a friendly home in the Democratic party. Environmentalists vs. unions is another conundrum, but the fact that the GOP will NEVER lift a finger to help any of them keeps them all in place.
I think what they're getting at is it used to be a more progressive thing to think the US politics need to get over Russia and stop being so militaristic about the whole ordeal, but now Republicans are in bed with Putin
Putin has nothing to do with the USSR. In the 1950s there was some interest from European socialists in the USSR, but there was never any connection between Western liberal parties and the USSR and the Democrats were virulently anti-Communist through the 1960s, by which point interest in Communism in America was dead.
But, again, Russia hasn't ahd anything to do wiht communism for decades -- there hasn't been even any stereotyped or imagined affinity between the left and Putin, ever. He's always been anti-Democratic, pro-oligarch, pro-oil, anti-minority, anti-self-determination and anti-human rights. He's a rightwinger and the connections have always been there with the GOP but it's only recently that it's become so public.
I know the USSR thing, just imagine they are talking about Russia. Progressives don't really see the point in going militaristic on Russia, even if its an anti-democratic mess, because they believe Russia is not an actual threat (and partially its all an extension of anti-USSR propaganda).
