I agree with this. They are everywhere but I have friends out in Ashburn-you could't pay me to live out there. All I hear about is drama and some friends who I once enjoyed being around I have distanced myself from..I guess they have worked to "fit in". Sorry OP-I'd probably move too but remember they are everywhere so be cautious.

I live in North Arlington, trust me when I tell you this happens here, too. If you're not cute and white and blonde, you're not part of the bus stop crew. Your kid might be invited to the bus stop end of year party, but you will be largely ignored.
This makes me a lot happier about my community. All of the moms are mostly Indian and most of them group together, but we still smile at each other and talk from time to time. I don’t think they’re gossiping about me or other moms! There are a few other non Indian moms (three or so) and we also chat from time to time but we aren’t friends. I try to suggest group activities so our kids can go to same camp, sport. That’s basically all we talk about. Me and one other mom who is European are the only white moms. I guess living in an immigrant community has its perks. Being super close to the neighbors can get very awkward if there is a clash. We live in townhouses so we are all super close to each other.
Where do you live? Where I live the Indian moms are definitely gossiping, it's just that you don't know it because they are talking in their mother tongues. They are also terribly snobby about leaving about American borns like me.
I live in a small suburb of Philadelphia. We are far out close to a lot of big pharmaceutical companies. Are you saying they don’t want to friend American born Indians? We don’t have any American born Indians in my community it seems. They mom seem nice enough. They smile and make more conversation than the non immigrant community. Both of my next door neighbors are Indian. I noticed the Indian ladies that walk around the community are very inclusive. There are two ladies that have disabilities. One lady is blind and another walks with a limp. I think it’s awesome! I work for a non profit who supports adults with disabilities and that’s definitely not the norm.

TBH, this is true all over the country in UMC circles. I have friends complaining about this cattiness in Michigan, Southern California, Florida, nice suburbs of Dallas Texas, and definitely in NW DC, Bethesda, Potomac, and Northern VA. My kids go to a public in DC with lots of international families, OOB kids, and vast majority of families are dual income. There's less of this mom-led cliquey'ness than in the suburban schools, IMHO.
There are different types of UMC. The type to avoid is the materialistic one.
Used to live in a UMC suburb of LA and the people were down to earth, community-oriented, and not materialistic.
