I like Dave a lot but it was an unnecessary comparison. These two shows are very different things. Also, Taylor’s band does play live every night. Idk. It was uncharacteristic of him.

Like pretty much all pop shows with a lot of dancing and other performance elements, Eras uses backing tracks fairly extensively especially on the big dance numbers like Shake it Off and Bad Blood. This is just the nature of these shows and not unique to Taylor.

Which is why I don't even view this as Grohl "taking a swipe" at Taylor specifically. Sure he was referencing the Eras tour because it was playing London on the same night. But he was really just talking up what makes a Foo Fighters show special-- it's just a rock band on a stage playing hard for three hours. It's not a big production with a bunch of elements. It's some guys with instruments and voices making music. Eras is a totally different thing and everyone understands that and Grohl was just talking up what he likes and is proud of with his own show-- it's more raw and free wheeling and stripped down.

This. He was punching up. Taylor fans need to get used to the idea that Taylor is, at this point, "The Man." She can't be a victim of this kind of stuff anymore. She's got the money and the sales numbers and the followers and all the awards and accolades. There is no "unfair attack" at this point and she and her fans need to get used to it.

There is absolutely no competition between Dave Grohl and Taylor Swift. Completely different markets and they both sold out a show on the same night same city. This is not a "competitive snipe".

Taylor is a grown woman in a cutthroat business. She's fine handling herself with a nonissue like this. Her fans should stand down.

OP - sorry not saying the mean girl comment is related to Dave Grohl. I think the mean girl comment is more about the the running commentary about how Taylor likes to push her music out when she knows other women are putting out their albums. Maybe its just coincidence however it seems too coincidental that every time another big woman artist comes out (for example Billie Eilish) Taylor decides to re-release some tracks/album.

Why are we even talking about mean girls? Both Taylor and Britney have had massive success. I mean, is there any other way? Why aren't we calling men who have had outsized success mean boys? It's a complete double standard.

In book publishing, authors have releases the same day. I'm not really a fan of anyone mentioned in this thread, but there are schedules and it seems silly to suggest that people ask everyone when to release. Especially when it's often reduced to a single day of the week. That's 52 days for huge industries.

I was talking about the release of albums and the timing and the "mean girl" aspect of timing. But to your other point,.... what? The death threats are absurd, but they occur hourly on the internet. But more specifically, to answer your question, no I don't think a male fan attacking others would be in jail for stalking. Not for one hot stinking minute do I think that would happen.

I think she is a “mean girl” for many other reasons, or at least I wouldn’t want to know her as a friend. There is too much posing with the posse (drawing attention to her in-group), tearing down men she dated, and general insecurity about her that is off putting. She definitely wants to cultivate an in group fan presence (Easter eggs, secret parties for “cool fans”) adn that is mean girl like.

Her latest album is breaking all sorts of records. Personally, I like it the most out of her entire discography. But Daddy I Love Him, Fortnight, Peter, Guilty As Sin, Down Bad, My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys and TTPD are on repeat at home.
