One ‘24 Sidwell student is going to Yale. The one Princeton admit I’m aware of is going to Harvard.
There’s also 1 Sidwell student going to Stanford this year. So that’s a total of 6 students going to HYPSM from the c/o 2025.
I know of one other Sidwell student admitted to Stanford this year, but that student is going to Penn. There are 6 Sidwell students going to Penn this year.

yes, SCOIR for NCS is scary. Vanderbilt, Duke, Rice, etc. You basically need a 3.98. One A- max over 4 years and it can only be in a semester long course (not a full year). There are really only 1 or 2 girls per grade who qualify for these schools.
That’s definitely not the case at GDS, STA, and Sidwell. Students from those schools consistently get into those colleges with cumulative 3.80 to 3.90 GPAs.
What’s going on at NCS?!?
My kid has a 3.86/1550 and per NCS SCOIR she is in the Boston College, Colgate, Davidson type band. Pretty much all the top 25 universities are above her pay grade (i.e. the star representing her stats is in a sea of red denials). Which means they're really only available to girls in the top 10% of the class. It's sobering.
Can any other NCS parent comment? I'm confused by this whole thing.
If unhooked, she needs at least a 3.92 and 1580.
Sorry, OP, you should have opted for public.
Hahahaha. What public school is sending this # of kids to any of these places? You are doing drugs. And they have just as many legacies and athletic recruits.
TJ plus the lots of the top public schools in the DMV. TJ alone probably sends 30+ to HYPSM every year.
Everyone knows that your chances for HYPSM unhooked are better at public.

Grade inflation.
No, the average GPA is 3.5. If anything NCS grades are deflated even relative to Sidwell, STA, GDS.
As I said, only 1-3 girls in a class are even in the 3.95+ Duke, Vanderbilt, Rice, H, Y, P, band.
If SCOIR is to believed, these schools are off the table to everyone else.![]()
But that isn't reflected in the instagram page. They must remove legacy from SCOIR.

Per the recent SCt. decision, colleges cannot admit students based on race. You should go to Sidwell’s IG page and let us know how many Penn admits are URMs. Report your findings here. 😊
That's amazing that 5 kids got into Penn unhooked. Sidwell must have a good number of kids that receive GPAs above 3.9?
I'll pass on going to Instagram to report back on race.![]()

Sidwell definitely does NOT have a “good number” of students with >3.90 GPAs. That’s probably about 10 students per graduating class. Some years there are zero to one Sidwell students graduating with a 4.0.
So are they getting unhooked kids in the 3.8's into schools in the top 25?
If so, this is really different than NCS. I'm looking at SCOIR and a 3.9 is pretty much required if you are not hooked (easy to tell because hooked kids have been removed from Scoir.).
